How did a small-town girl from frigid Minnesota end up taking her photography to gorgeous Buckinghamshire? Well, pull up a chair and let me tell you...
I fell in love. Firstly, with Europe. I completed my BA Honors in Theology (yep, you read that right!) at a beautiful old place that smelled of history and books. and burned with faith and academics in the West of England. I spent nearly 8 years working in cross-cultural ministry all over the world, wide-eyed and amazed, using my small hands however they were needed.
Then I met a tall, dark, and handsome Englishman under the clock tower at King's Cross Station and walked along the South Bank of the Thames talking until the underground nearly shut down for the night. We were married in June 2013 in a dream-like backyard ceremony at my childhood home before our dearest friends and family from near and far. From here on out, we are facing what the world throws at us with fingers entwined. He makes me laugh every day and God's richest blessings pour out to me through this husband I love.
As a child, I wanted to grow up to be an artist and a novelist (...and a famous country western singer, let's just be honest). Capturing the life around me in words and pictures has been an obsession since before I was even given my first camera at age 11 (it was hot pink). This love has only grown as God has taken me on adventures begging to be shared with the world- from uni in Gloucestershire, to working with orphans in Romania, malnourished babies in Uganda, internationals in Sweden, or trafficked children in Thailand! After taking an eye-opening photography course in London in 2012, there was no looking back. Six years into running my business, I find my bend is toward the photo-journalistic and lifestyle, catching the moments- and the people in them- unaware, and creating fine-art out of them. I especially love capturing the bond between people who have been blessed to love one another, and working with airy, romantic light...
My work has been featured in Central Minnesota Brides magazine, Bokeh Online magazine, the Fashionable Family Photos blog, and I was a finalist in the international Shoot & Share Photo Contest in 2015.
I also love to design pretty and communicative marketing tools for my design clients. If that piques your curiousity, let's talk Design.
It would be my utmost pleasure to work with you, to capture your memories, your family, your milestones. I'm based in Haddenham, Bucks, but both London and Oxford are quick trips away on the train. I often shoot back in Minnesota too. In fact, I could be quite portable, so let's talk destinations!
